No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he enjoyed gambling on various card games at a young age. He discovered himself becoming really competitive in these card games while playing his father. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a little while and moved to New York City to compete in some big-time chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were tough as he played countless hours and do not win most times. He earned some additional money by being an assistant for the poker players. He believed he possibly could better his game by balancing his life away from poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and concentrate more on poker.
The real improvement in his abilities began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest gamblers would regularly play against each other. Howard had access into some of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would sharpen his cunning thinking abilities. Howard applied these strategy ideas to the game of No-Limit texas hold’em.
He also helped his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a superb student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the greatest women players the poker world today. He moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and played money games for the following decade. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard decided to play more tournaments.
