No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the negative comments from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
