Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is dealt seven cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
