Caribbean Poker Rules and Tricks

Poker has become globally famous recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with 21 than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the house rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the other players are given five cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your beginning bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a figure equal to the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The bank pays out cash even with your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
