Double-hand Poker is a current game with old origins. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the wild west in a wonderful game for beginner level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the casino, unlike nearly all other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, beginner players don’t need to fret about any other, more experienced gamblers taking their $$$$.

One more Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game play, beginners will be able to take their time and scheme while not needing to make hasty decisions.

It is also easier to bet on for a very long time with only a small amount of money since, to lose, both of your hands has to be under both of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the dealer gets seven cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
